Full Control Access to the Main Client Folder
Users can experience issues running reports or applying updates if they do not have full permissions to the Synoptix folder on their workstation.
We suggest applying full control to this folder for each user during install. Giving full control to the folder is a Windows settings and is not applied by default when you install the client, or copy an installation over from another workstation. This is a recommended step during the install or update process to ensure the client is optimized.

You can do this by navigating to the install directory under C:\Program Files. Locate your Synoptix or Advanced Reporting folder and right click the main folder name, then select "Properties."

In the properties pop-up window, navigate to the Security tab.
From the users, select the "Users" group. In the bottom portion of the window, check the "Full Control" box and apply.

This change will be applied when you re-launch your client.
Please note that depending on workstation security, some users may not have the ability to apply full control to their Users and will need an internal administrator with these security rights to assist them.

For other update questions, see our article on Common Reasons Users Cannot Apply Updates.
