If you lose connectivity to your production database(s), reports may not complete running or throw errors.
Clicking through these your production company and then running the default balance report is a simple way to refresh the connectivity.

To do so, you will need to launch your client application as an administrative user.
From the control panel, navigate to Admin Setup > Connection Setup. Select your production company name and click "modify."

Verify the connection credentials are correct as you proceed through the windows. Once you click "finish" you will receive a prompt to restart the client in order to refresh the connection.

Close and relaunch the client.
Navigate to "run" and select the Accountant's Trial Balance report. Run this report for the company name you just modified the connection to. Ensure that it returns proper data and drilldowns.
This confirms that the connection to that database is functional and current.

We are trying to connect a Sage 50 database through ODBC to SynOptix. The user guide (Pg 25) of Standard Connection Guide V7.1.08(Final) does not indicate what user name or password to use. We have tried combinations of the Sage 50 and ODBC user names and passwords. None work. Please do suggest what to try next.
