Synoptix sets the standard for business intelligence with its database and OS independent architecture, an important fact that guarantees massive scalability and flexibility. Whether your need is to port Synoptix to a legacy system to avoid expensive and unreliable data conversions, or implement Synoptix to your current software package (or a combination of both), Synoptix' flexible architecture guarantees a smooth and timely go live transition.

Synoptix' Answer to the Problem of Multicore Technology
Today's computers are capable of much better performance than they were even a few years ago. In years past, the best way for computer chip makers to improve speed was to turn up the clock speed on the computer processor. But the problem was that it generated more heat and consumed more power, which is bad for computers in general, and especially bad for notebooks. To alleviate this, the computer industry has moved to chips with multiple processor cores, which provide more performance while at the same time produce less power than their earlier counterparts. Today most, if not all, computers are equipped with multiple processor cores.
Because of the hardware advances, the possibility of better performance has been enhanced dramatically. To fully realize better performance in reality, however, software applications must be programmed using a technology called "threads." In short, threads allow software developers to fully engage the multicore processors on different parts of the program at the same time. But because many programming languages aren't inherently suited to threading, and because threads can be difficult and time consuming to program, many developers don't invest the effort to make their applications multicore capable. As a result, the vast amount of applications aren't as fast as they could be.
Synoptix not only utilizes the latest in development technology, but it also fully engages multicore processors with its comprehensive use of threading technology. For instance, though it makes use of threading in many other areas, Synoptix launches multiple threads to retrieve data from the database when reports are run -- a process that makes full use of the multicore processor and thus dramatically improves overall performance. As processors become even more robust, as they're sure to in the coming years, Synoptix will be poised to take advantage of those additional cores as they're made available. Just another example of Synoptix' leading edge architecture, providing real solutions that empower companies to compete in any economy.
